When I was a young(er) butthole artist, I didn’t think I was influenced by any other artists. Well! Not exactly, I mean. More like, I figured I’d probably been influenced by SOMEONE, or lots of SOMEONEs, but unlike my other art friends, I couldn’t put a name to any of those influences. 

Jamie Hewlett (Tank Girl, Gorillaz) is the first person I recognized as an influence. Self-awareness happens in high school, I guess, for a slow-ass like myself. I seem to have forgotten why I liked his work so much. I bought a Tank Girl art book.

It’s a nice reminder. Jamie Hewlett’s a badass.

Hey internet, wanna try something silly? If you’re near a printer, and going to NYCC, you can print out a bunch of these and leave them at Comic-Con. It’s just a little something that helps demystify the whole comic making process.

This isn’t exactly self promotion, I don’t care to see my name or site on any of these. I’m just putting it out there, that making your own zine is really, really, really simple. And you can start as tiny as multiplying one page into eight. And one post into thousands.

I know how to do this. I did this all the time at school, but this is EXCELLENT reference for anyone who’s always wanted to do this and never got the chance!!  Pass it along!
